Painful spinal conditions

Schroth Therapy

Schroth therapy is a specialized exercise method used to treat scoliosis and other spinal posture disorders. Its goal is to improve posture, spinal stability and function, while reducing pain and preventing progression of deformities.

This method is based on three-dimensional spinal correction through targeted breathing techniques, activation of specific muscle groups and conscious posture control. Each therapy program is fully individualized based on the type and severity of the condition, with the aim of developing proper posture patterns that carry over into everyday life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Schroth therapy can be accessed via a D1 referral. Therapy is started without a waiting list, which allows timely start of treatment and continuous work on posture correction and spinal stability.

1. Physiotherapist assessment – includes a detailed postural analysis, an assessment of the type and degree of scoliosis and the development of an individual therapy plan.

2. Individual Schroth exercises – performed 2 times a week, a total of 10 appointments per patient, with a focus on learning proper breathing, posture correction and strengthening the muscular system.

3. Group Schroth exercises – after the end of the individual program, group trainings are recommended to maintain the achieved results and prevent the deterioration of the condition.

Schroth therapy is intended for children, adolescents and adults.

In children and adolescents, therapy plays an important role in early recognition and slowing down the progression of scoliosis, improving posture and the proper development of the muscular system.

In adults, therapy helps reduce pain, improve posture, spinal stability and function and maintain quality of life despite existing changes.
